Bingo Wins Game 6 In Double OT, Lehner Spectacular

Backstopped by the unbelievable heroics of Robin Lehner, the Binghamton Senators won game six of there first round playoff series against the Manchester Monarchs in double overtime. Lehner stopped 51 of 52 shots in the game, but none was bigger than a penalty shot save early in the second overtime frame. Yes, a penalty shot, in double overtime! Bingo was deemed guilty of intentionally knocking the net off it’s mourings. With the utter shock of an overtime penalty shot at hand, Lehner went face to face with the Monarchs’ leading scorer, Bud Holloway. Lehner was able to get a peice of the puck and the shot went wide. Minutes later, in a script that couldn’t have been better written by a Hollywood screenwriter, Geoff Kinrade ended the 90 minute long game at 10:01 of double overtime for the B-Sens. An incredible moment for the young team and its fans.

With the win, Bingo forces game seven tomorrow night at 7 PM in Manchester. The B-Sens have incredibly managed to draw a seventh game without winning one game in regulation time. All three of Binghamton’s wins have come in the extra frame(s) . Fascinating stuff from Ottawa’s AHL affiliate.
