Bryan Murray Will Be Back

After a brief meeting this morning with the current Senators GM, owner Eugene Melnyk held his second press conference in a matter of a couple of hours.  He announced that Bryan Murray will be returning as GM, with a 3 year contract extension.

The extension means Murray will continue with the extensive rebuild that began in earnest Feb 10th with the trade of veteran Mike Fisher. The last quarter of the season was a success on the ice.  The performance of the young kids stepping in combinced with the steady and spectacular play of goaltender Craig Anderson, allowed Murray to keep the job that at the end of January nobody thought he could keep.
