The Captain Speaks!

Sens captain Daniel Alfredsson  took in his first practice with the team in over a month yesterday. Having missed the last 22 games with a lower body injury, Alfredsson still hopes to return this season and play a game or two. Wanting to see how his injury has progressed, Alfie will gauge whether or not he will need surgery or just rehab to fix the problem in the next few weeks.

Check out this video interview of Alfie after his first practice courtesy of SensTV.

Just a few notes from the video:

  • Alfie will know in a week if he will be able to play this year. Sorry Sens Army, any hopes of Alfie coming back this weekend to help put the final nail in the Leafs Playoff coffin is probably gone.
  • Surgery is an option to fix the problem, but Alfie wants to see how his injury responds to the rehab program that’s set-up for him. He said he is not where he thought he would be, but is still optimistic about the rehab results.
  • Alfie feels that it is important to comeback this season to see where his injury is, but ultimately, if he can’t comeback, he will not force it. (Thank God!)
  • And finally, our captain approves the re-signing of Craig Anderson. Alfie likes his work ethic and his great play since he came over in the trade.
