Courtesy of SensTV, here’s an interview with Ottawa’s 2007 1st round draft pick, Jimmy O’Brien.

Considered a bust after his first pro season last year in Binghamton where he only managed 17 points in 76 games, O’Brien re-committed himself to hockey and had a great summer of training. This season in Binghamton was a complete 180. Jimmy-O is playing top six minutes and is second on the team in scoring with 53 points in 67 games.

Ottawa management has been impressed with O’Brien’s progression this year and has rewarded him in call-ups to the big club. In total, he has played six games in Ottawa and has moved up the depth chart in the organization. With the orgainzation in need of impact forwards, O’Brien has the potential to earn a NHL roster spot in the very near future. Still a year or two away, O’Brien has the skills to be an effective two-way centre in the NHL.
