8th East (16-11-3)

11th East (13-16-2)
Your Ottawa Senators battle the Atlanta Thrashers tonight in hopes of winning back-to-back games for the first time in over a month. Coming off a win against the New Jersey Devils on Friday night, tonight’s task is a little tougher as the Thrash are 8-2 in their last ten games. With Ottawa only winning three of their last ten games, Ottawa will need to play a full 60 minutes tonight to have a chance to come away with two points.
With the Sens seeming to have gotten out of their scoring woes with ten goals in their last four games, captain Daniel Alfredsson is still on a career-high ten game pointless streak. The Thrashers defence is not the strongest in the league so hopefully Alfie can break out of his slump.
Atlanta is 8th in league scoring so Coach Clouston has decided to mix up his ‘D’ pairings. Gonchar will skate with Kuba, Karlsson lines up with Phillips, and Carkner and Campoli will stay together. Brian Elliott will get the start and Ryan Shannon will come back into the line-up. Hopefully we’ll see Round 2 of Matt Carkner and Eric Boulton too.
