Game Day: OTT vs BOS
7th East (8-7-1)
VS.
5th East (8-4-1)
Your Ottawa Senators face the Big Bad Bruins tonight in Boston. Being embarrassed 4-0 last time they met, Ottawa wants to prove they can hang with the elite teams in the NHL.
Going into tonight’s game, there are two prevalent story lines. Bruins goalie Tim Thomas (a.k.a. The Best Goalie in the League), has had Ottawa’s number his whole career. Having a 17-7 record against Ottawa, the Sens need to slay the monster and get to him early.
The other storyline is the antics of Ottawa enforcer Chris Neil. Last game, Neil grabbed Bruins defenceman Dennis Seidenberg late in the game and laid a beating on him. The issue was that Seidenberg is a known non-fighter and Neil gave him little choice if he wanted to fight or not. Look for an early revenge fight.
In other news, Filip Kuba will make is long awaited season debut as he has been out since the first day of training camp with a broken leg. He will be paired with Erik Karlsson and will man the point on the second powerplay unit. Congrats to Brian Elliott and Matt Carkner who will both be playing in their 100th career NHL game.
