Anticipated Senators Lines vs New York Rangers – Regin OUT, O’Brien, Daugavins IN?

Once again Paul MacLean has shuffled the forward lines, looking for a offensive answer.

Zack Smith, fresh off his first goal in 363 days with a gorilla off his back, now finds himself centering the top line of Milan Michalek and Daniel Alfredsson.

It appears that Peter Regin will be sitting out along with Dave Dziurzynski (concussion) as the changes to the lineup from the last game, meaning Jim O’Brien and Kaspars Daugavins would be back in the fold. O’Brien is in for sure, with the Regin/Daugavins decision to be made closer to game time.

Here is how the lines were reported this morning from those in attendance

Milan Michalek – Zack Smith -Daniel Alfredsson

Colin Greening – Kyle Turris – Jakob Silfverberg

Mark Stone – Mika Zibanejad – Chris Neil

Erik Condra – Jim O’Brien – Kaspars Daugavins/Peter Regin

The defense pairings apparently also were mixed up, and it remains to be seen if that is how they line up tonight or if it is just an experiment in the game day skate

Marc Methot – Patrick Wiercioch

Andre Benoit – Sergei Gonchar

Eric Gryba – Chris Phillips

Lineup Update Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers – No Changes (A Rarity)

For the first time since (I believe) the first two games of the season, the Ottawa Senators will ice the same lineup for back to back games when they face off tonight against the New York Rangers.

This means that Jim O’Brien and Mike Lundin will be the healthy scratches once again. Milan Michalek could be ready to go next week, while Peter Regin and Guillaume Latendresse are skating, although there is no timetable for their return.
