The success of professional sports leagues is dictated on fan support. Individual franchises in the NHL do a fantastic job of showing their appreciation for their fans, and the Ottawa Senators are no exception.

The Senators will be touring Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec starting in late August as a part of their Hometown Tour.

As of now, the player appearances are still to be determined at the specific locations, but the dates and places are scheduled.

The tour begins on Monday, August 22 in Leitrim. There are 6 days of festivities taking place at 12 different Canadian Tire locations throughout the region.

The tour will be from Monday-Wednesday during the 4th and 5th weeks of August. The 2nd session of the day will always go from 4:00pm-7:30pm, but times vary for the 1st sessions.

Fans will get a chance to meet with players, participate in interactive games, and win tickets to upcoming Senators’ home games this season.

Fans can test the speed of their slap shots and play some mini hockey games at the events. There’s always a lot of fun activities set up.

Fans also get an opportunity to meet media members. CTV Ottawa and TSN 1200 will be well represented at each of the stops.

Players will be available for autograph sessions, but only fans with wristbands will be allowed access to that specific area.

Wristbands can be obtained earlier on the day of the appearance at the customer service desk of the Canadian Tire store hosting the event. Wristbands first become available at 8:00am the day of the event, and are subject to availability.

Here’s a link to the Hometown Tour on the Senators’s NHL.com site. More information will be released as the dates approach.

It sounds like a lot of fun, and really demonstrates the strong ties to the community that this team possesses.
