It’s the Toronto Marlies turn to play host for the Binghamton Senators as they go at it once again in less than 24 hours from Sunday’s win for the Senators as things shift from Ottawa to Toronto for a 1:00 pm contest this afternoon. As the USA celebrates President’s Day, it’s Family Day in many parts of Canada as we focus on today’s match-up.

MATCH-UP HISTORY

In the two game played every season, Senators look for the sweep as they were victorious on Sunday winning 5-2 in Ottawa.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Connor Brown, TOR – A rookie native out of Toronto, Brown had a goal and an assist on Sunday and remains one of the more potent offensive threats Toronto has in their line-up. He served as Captain for the Erie Otters (OHL) and registered 128 points (45 goals, 83 assists in 68 games) in 2013-’14 while earning the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, handed out to the league’s top scorer.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau, BNG – ‘All in’ as what should be Pageau’s motto because that is what he does whether he’s up in Ottawa or here in Binghamton, as overall he’s a dangerous weapon for the Senators. Recently was sent down to make room for Shane Prince being called up and was inserted on the first line making an immediate impact on faceoffs and scoring a pair of goals.

THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Sens Need to Keep the Momentum Going – The one thing the Senators had on Sunday was momentum as they put together a string of four goals in the third period and hope to carry that with them at the start of today’s game.

2. Goalie Rotation Set With Scott Greenham starting yesterday in Ottawa, veteran Peter Mannino should get the nod for this afternoon’s tilt as he seeks his fourth win of the season for Binghamton. It must be a thrill for the 31-year-old while over a couple of months ago he was playing in the ECHL looking for work.

3. First Time Visit to Maple Leaf’s Home Ice – In the past, the Senators have played the Hamilton Bulldogs in the Canadian two game sweep as the second one always ended up at Montreal’s Bell Centre. This year the schedule maker’s got it right in playing Toronto as the Marlies home ice is Ricoh Coliseum, so this is also a step up for them as well in today’s tilt.
