Binghamton Senators Vs Hershey Bears: Game Preview

facebooktwitterreddit

Exactly two weeks ago is when the two long time rivals played a game featuring a combined 110 PIM as the Binghamton Senators return in action against the Hershey Bears tonight at the Giant Center. Both clubs are coming off strong emotional wins on Friday as this will be another four point swing in the standings that the Senators will need the most.

MATCH-UP HISTORY

The Bears 5-2 win two weeks ago at Giant Center featured five different occurrences of dropping the gloves.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Tim Kennedy, HER – With Kennedy leading the club in points, he’s had only two goals all season, however his 25 assists as a table-setter is what makes him so dangerous as he’s ranked second best in the league in that category.

Mike Sdao, BNG – There is no way he will be left off the line-up this time around as he was a healthy scratch in the previous game. Things might will balance out in the numbers with Big Mike in the line-up.

*UPDATE: Ex-Senator forward Jim O’Brien has been claimed off AHL waivers by the Hershey Bears. Will provide updates via twitter.

THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Scotty Greenham in a Solid Win – Who should start in net? I say Greenham as he’s had some luck in winning a game at Giant Center last year. Greenham has confidence leaning his way and deserves the start while Andrew Hammond is struggling as a result of being over used IMO.

2. Sens Need to Dig Deep – A must win tonight will go a long way as a loss just negates Friday’s victory. Now that the team is coming off a solid effort that hopefully spills over into tonight’s game.

3. Ryan Dzingel & Max McCormick – The two rookies out of Ohio State had themselves a good offensive effort in Friday’s win and need to continue to produce providing secondary scoring, as the primary scoring has taken a back seat as of late.
