Nick Paul, Ben Harpur To Play In OHL-Russia Series

Ottawa Senators prospects Nick Paul (North Bay Battalion) and Ben Harpur (Guelph Storm) will play for the OHL in the first game of the pair that the league’s best will play againt the Russians in the annual Subway Series.

The duo will play in the Peterborough leg of the series on November 13th, with the likes of top prospects for the 2015 draft Connor McDavid and Ottawa 67’s forward Travis Konecny, as well as other already drafted players like Max Domi, Nick Ritchie, Robby Fabbri, Darnell Nurse and Michael Dal Colle.

Paul was acquired from Dallas in the Jason Spezza deal, and has 8 goals and 3 assists in 8 games so far this season for North Bay.

Harpur is a blueliner for the Storm, was the Senators 3rd round pick in 2013.  He has 2 goals and 5 assists in 7 games so far, on pace to destroy his career high of 16 points set last season in 67 games.

The OHL lost both games in the series to the Russians last year, a 5-1 loss and a 3-2 shootout loss.

Current Senators forward Curtis Lazar captained the WHL team for one of the two games last season (a 3-2 loss) , in the series that sees a Russian select team play two games against each CHL league.
