Finally, B-Sens hockey has officially returned to the Southern Tier of New York!

The Binghamton Senators host their home opener against an unlikely opponent, the Worcester Sharks, as they kick off the new season that will surely have fans celebrating the return of hockey with the refurbished Arena and its new video boards at center ice. The Sens, fresh off their European tour in France with a perfect 3-0 record, are determined to defend their division title for the 2014-’15 campaign.

MATCHUP HISTORY

Last season Binghamton won both games, 6-3 on Jan 29th at home, and a 8-0 shutout in Worcester on Feb 15th. Despite the latest blowout win, Sens will not take the Sharks lightly in the home opener.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Bryan Lerg, WOR – New addition to the Sharks after serving as Captain of the Lake Erie Monsters the last two season’s as he was signed over the off-season as a free agent.

Carter Camper, BNG – One of the new key player’s that’s been added to the roster over the summer in helping jump-start the offense as the 26-year-old AHL veteran will be accepting his role as the possible No. 2 center for the club.

TOP 3 STORYLINES FOR THE GAME

1.  New Video Boards – The fans get what they have wished for as the outdated one is finally gone and replaced that will undoubtedly add an entertaining twist in covering live action at center ice, as the Arena is now complete with its renovation’s covering the last two seasons.

2.  Uncharted Waters – The Sharks and Sens will see each other again only twice this season, where in the past home opener’s the Senators have faced divisional foes.

3.  Worcester’s Last Stand? – There have been ongoing rumor’s of certain East coast AHL franchise’s relocating to the trendy West coast and supporting NHL club’s request wanting their affiliate’s closer to their home base. It does seem plausible on a financial aspect with an over-saturated AHL market in the Northeast soon as the league looks to expand out West.
