The Ottawa Senators made some roster moves in advance of their first Florida road trip of the season.  They have recalled forward Mike Hoffman from the Binghamton Senators while returning centre Derek Grant and defenseman Mark Borowiecki to Bingo.

Hoffman has been on fire this season since failing to earn a roster spot out of training camp.  He currently sits 2nd in AHL scoring behind NHL veteran Travis Moen, with 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 21 games.  He will likely be in the lineup on Tuesday when the Senators face the Panthers.

Grant, meanwhile, filled a role in his 20 game stint, primarily as a penalty killer.  He did notch 2 assists and a -2 rating with 4 PIMS.  Borowiecki, who is the captain of the B Sens, brought some much needed physicality and a mean streak to the blue line, but his penchant for taking bad penalties at inopportune times is something he needs to work on.

The demotions by no means represent the caliber of play from the young Bingo-bound players, but both are on 2 way contracts and do not need to clear waivers, so there is no risk on the part of the club of losing them as they might for some other players who have performed below expectations, and the list of those is long.
