Here is SenShot’s NHL recap for the 3 games played outside of Ottawa’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks.

PHOENIX COYOTES 5,  CAROLINA HURRICANES 3

Rob Klinkhammer scored twice including the winner 22 seconds into the third period and captain Shane Doan added a goal and an assist to lead the Coyotes to a 5-3 win over the Canes.  Mikkel Boedker and Lauri Korpikoski scored singles for the Yotes, with Mike Smith making 31 saves for the win.

Carolina goalie Anton Khudobin left the game near the midway point with a leg injury as he stubled while coming out to play the puck near the faceoff circle.  The game was tied 2-2 at the time, and Cam Ward came in and allowed three goals on 12 shots in relief to take the loss.  Eric Staal, Riley Nash and Jeff Skinner scored for the Canes.
