Yet Another Reason To Dislike (or Hate) P.K. Subban

If you have been reading SenShot for a while, or follow me on twitter, you will know that I am not a big fan of Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban.  Subban the player is fine and dandy, but Subban the person has a lot of growing up to do.  I wanted to sew his mouth shut when he and his brothers Malcolm and Jordan were interviewed at the most recent draft and despite Jordan being the draftee, P.K. made it the P.K. show.

Then came Tuesday and his interview on TSN while attending a golf tournament with a number of his teammates.  When the subject if his contract came up and the fact that he was going into the final year of his contract, he said something that made me roll my eyes.  I am paraphrasing a bit here, but it was something along the lines of

“I still have one year left.  I signed a two year deal so I’m going to honor that…”

Wow, P.K.!

As if you had any choice whatsoever in the manner, and stop acting like you are doing the Canadiens a favor by playing for them for another year.  Confidence is one thing, but arrogance is entirely another.  And when it comes to P.K Subban, arrogance is the first thing I, think of, and I am sure I am not the only one.

Some guys you hate but would love to have on your team, like Gary Roberts back in the early 2000′s.  And then there are other guys that you simply hate.

Subban is in the latter for me.

I’m not a PK fan either, but I don’t think you should quote someone, or even worst alter a quote, without providing a reference.

Not only does it make the reader question the article in whole, but it also question the credentials of the writer.

    • Jared Crozier

I did reference it…the TSN interview on Tuesday

      • MGDB

No, an actual reference would be an exact quote or a link to the interview. That way the reader can analyze what HE said and put it into their own perspective.

I don’t believe you should alter a quote without providing the original, it can be misleading.

        My two cents.

        • Voxman

right on…..this guy Jared is just looking for something to get him hits to the site…took the whole page down for hours lol….good job. Maybe instead of taking pot shots at others…he should get better at his own craft…instead of tearing someone else down.

      • Newb Hoffgames

Obviously a really bad article, next time mind your own buisness (karlsson and sens stuff)

  • Bruno Love

P.K. Subban is full of himself. His ego is huge. He should tone it down a little.

    • Voxman

really….why cause he enjoys scoring a goal….cause he has passion…. that’s what this game needs…we have enough guys who only care about the money

  • Voxman

all you are doing is going off about is him saying he would honour his contract…when the question itself was bait to stir up nonsense. Making the draft all about him? What were you watching? I saw the interview and all he did was praise his brother like a good brother should. You made no mention of him and his dad raising millions for under privilege kids to play hockey did ya. I think what you should really be bitter about is that when he retires he will go to sportsdesk or TSN while you are still writing nonsense on a no name site. You only write about PK or the habs because it gets you hits on your pathetic column where no other story would get the time of day. Not even a story really….just a rant on someone else’s work. Well it really worked well today as the site was offline for hours and hours…real pro server you guys got there….lol PK RULES…!

When I read this headline, I thought there would be some incisive and intelligent commentary about his game and/or his relationship with his teammates. Instead, the author rags on PK for giving a two sentence, cookie-cutter “we have to take it one game at a time”-type sports quote that he gives at a meaningless golf tournament, all with very little context. Subban probably couldn’t tie his shoes without this author writing an entire hate post about it. Poor poor journalism.

PK haters making such bad thread should be checking their attitude alot more than he does. When he was asked about his contract, he said he will honor the last year of it, he did not say that as it was a favour, but just like if was a something important to him, a ”devoir”. People that twist what he say are either fking dumbasses or pk haters. And yes, he’s doing us a favor anyway because 2,8 m a year for a guy who won Norris last year at 23-24 years old is a fking steal.

Anyway you got to love Subban attitude, he’s a real leader and a classy guy, every players was invited to the golf *(you said ”gold”) tournament, but not every player went. PK was here. PK do everyting he can for the team and his mates. Stop hating fking haters

  • Newb Hoffgames

People see him in an interview with his brother and see him talk alot and interpret he steal the show. But thats only his personnality, he’s volubile, hes a nice person, stop hating on him and accept him like that. Subban is Mtl best player, now face it, i prefer having a volubile elite defenseman that a shy weak mentally goalie thats cost us double his price and that complain about our city been a hockey city. Get a life.

  • Newb Hoffgames

thise kind of threads shouldn’t even be read, its such bullsh1t

  • Moby Dick

PK is a bit over-confident but I wouldn’t call it detrimental in any way. He works hard, has an excellent IQ, is well read (he’s a bookworm), has a rugged body that will likely give him a 20-yr. NHL career, his teammates (esp. the younger ones) love him, and he plays with great passion and comes up biggest in the biggest games.
If you can’t handle his slight over-confidence, then you are a pussy. Go toughen up. Or is it hidden racism at work here? Guys like Jagr, Ovechken, Galchenyuk, Crosby, play with a bit of over-confidence, but no one seems to get on them.
PK is going to be around for a long time. Deal with the league’s first true black superstar (I’m not includiing Grant Fuhr here).

  • Bert Vanular

wow yourself – you rag on this guy just because HE SAYS HE IS GOING TO HONOR HIS CONTRACT? Grow up dude! what’s your problem? Obviously you are either a racist or you have a very biased negative pre disposition towardsP K because he is a talkative guy who happens to play on a team that competes closely with the Sens. If you can’t write something remotely intelligent , then do us all a favor and shut your yap!

Montreal Canadiens is PK team with many best friend the Price George and the Paciority for long contract they want play and win that Cup together But is it the New York Ranger Subban is host for the Saturday Nights Live things like that? My opinion is for the P.K. becoming major NHL super star and it is only the hater who deny that thing. I hope he stay the Canadiens!
