Jared Cowen To Make Season Debut For Ottawa Senators Debut Against Hurricanes

Defenseman Jared Cowen, who has been out since sustaining a hip injury in October while with the Binghamton Senators, will suit up tonight for the Ottawa Senators, replacing Andre Benoit.

Cowen will be paired with Eric Gryba to start the game, forming an imposing duo of 6’5″ Cowen and 6’4″ Gryba.

Cowen played just 3 games in Binghamton before his injury, earning 3 assists. He played all 82 games in a solid rookie season, scoring 5 goals and adding 12 assists last year.

He will be a welcome addition to the blueline heading into the playoffs, and getting a few games in will be a bonus so he can be closer to game shape when the post-season comes.  Just don’t expect him to come in tonight in mid-season form.  It will take a couple of games to get up to speed.
