Tracking Trades: Derek Roy To The Vancouver Canucks


The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Derek Roy from the Dallas Stars for a second round pick and a prospect (Kevin Connauton), according to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos.

 

Roy would have been a nice fit with the Senators, and is from the area.  Vancouver also needs an upgrade in their top 6 and needed a centreman more than Ottawa.  Roy can fill in the second line spot until Ryan Kesler returns from injury and then will be a solid 3rd line centre or could even move to the wing if needed.
