So when the Erik Karlsson injury first happened and people all over the NHL expected doom and gloom in Ottawa, the Daniel Alfredsson trade rumors began swirling, much to the chagrin of Senators fans everywhere.

They lasted for a couple of long weeks, but you will notice that they are virtually non-existent now that the Senators have maintained their 5th seed and are virtually assured of a playoff spot.

In fact there are more “buying” rumors than “selling” rumors around Ottawa, and they are swirling around big time now with the waiving of Kaspars Daugavins and the demotion of Dave Dziurzynski.

Senators fans can relax and see what unfolds in the next week without worrying about Alfredsson leaving town.
