Binghamton Senators Update – Michael Sdao Signs An Amateur Try-Out
The Binghamton Senators played three games this week, having played two at home and one on the road. They first traveled to Rochester to face the Americans and then hosted a pair of games this coming weekend, welcoming the likes of the Adirondack Phantoms and the Norfolk Admirals.
The boys traveled to Rochester to take on the Buffalo Sabres affiliate. This game marked the last game in their 8 game series. Bingo was dominant before heading into this one leading the series 6-0-0-1, but fell to the Americans on Wednesday night 3-1. They were dominated in the shots category 39-19 and their lone goal game from Derek Grant, a goal that was a tying goal in the second period. But just couldn’t hold off the Amerks offence, after the goal and then went on to allow 2 more in the losing effort. Nathan Lawson started this game.
Luke Richardson and his team came back home, to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, where they would face off versus the Adirondack Phantoms, the Philadelphia Flyers affiliate. The B-Sens were going into this game with a 3-1-0-1 record against this team. Nathan Lawson started in this one too hoping for a different outcome but after Cole Schneider would tie this game up at 2 after being behind early, the Phantoms would score not even a minute and a half later. The Phantoms late goal would hold up the be the winner. Past Flyerst goaltender Brian Boucher started for the Phantoms and made 28 saves, as for the B-Sens Lawson would make 33 saves in the losing effort.
The following night they would welcome the Norfolk Admirals, the Anaheim Ducks affiliate. The Admirals were coming into this game a streaking team winning 7 of the past 10 games. The coach would once again go back with Lawson, making this his 3rd game in 4 nights. After allowing the first goal of the game, Lawson and the B-Sens would go on to score 5 unanswered goals to win this game big. They would get goals from Chris Wideman, who scored his his pro goal last Friday night, this was his 2nd of the season. They also got contribution from Mark Stone, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Wacey Hamilton and Michael Sdao, who also scored his first pro goal in this game. Lawson bounced back with the win and 42 saves.
Stephane Da Costa has taken over the team lead in points with 11 goals and 21 assists for a total of 33 points. Jean Gabriel Pageau is also heating up of late, he is looking to continue his pace and add more points looking to catch up to Da costa, he now has 27 points.
Coming up this coming weekend are game versus the Albany Devils, the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Connecticut Whales.
