Ottawa Senators Send Mark Borowiecki To AHL’s Binghamton Senators

With 8 defensemen on the roster, the Ottawa Senators had too many bodies to get adequate playing time.  Mike Lundin made his debut last night and although didn’t stand out, didn’t look out of place either considering how little he had played lately.

The odd man out from the “Bingo 3” is Mark Borowiecki, and sending him to Binghamton seems like the best choice.  Andre Benoit would have to clear waivers and Patrick Wiercioch will get consistent playing time and has shown well when given the chance on the Ottawa blue line.

The only advantage to keeping Borowiecki instead of Wiercioch would have been the physical element that he would bring, which is lacking on the Senators blue line.
