The Binghamton Senators Enter the brief Christmas break on a winning note as Robin Lehner made 34 saves to help his team defeat the Rochester Americans 5-1 Saturday night.   Rochester had defeated the Sens in a shootout the night before, so Bingo escaped the home and home series with three of a possible four points.

Andre Benoit had a goal and an assist for the second straight night, and he was joined in that feat by Jakob Silfverberg and Mike Hoffman, while Shane Prince and Mark Stone rounded out the scoring for Binghamton.

Binghamton went 2 for 5 on the power play while killing off both of Rochester’s opportunities with the man advantage.

Binghamton is off until Wednesday when they play host to the team they are chasing, the Syracuse Crunch. The win combined with the Syracuse loss on Saturday moves the Sens within three points of the conference and division leading with three games in hand.
