Stephane Da Costa Hat Trick Leads Binghamton To Eighth Straight Win

In his first game in a month, forgotten prospect Stephane Da Costa scored a hat trick (his first goals of the season) to lead the Binghamton Senators to their 8th straight win.  Shane Prince added three assists in the 5-2 win over division leading Syracuse Crunch, while  Patrick Wiercioch and Jakob Silfverberg added singles for the red-hot Senators.

Binghamton moved within 2 points of the division lead, with two games in hand on the Crunch.  The Sens did go 0 for 8 with the man advantage and allowed a short-handed goal, so all was not rosy, but all that matters is the two points and the fact that it continues to be a team effort with different players stepping up every game to contribute to the winning ways.

Ben Bishop had a relatively light night, facing only 23 shots, a far cry from what the Senators have been tending to allow even during the winning streak.

The Senators will try to extend the winning streak to nine games when they host the Portland Pirates On Friday night.
