The Toronto Maple Leafs had the highest valuation. The Leafs are worth One Billion Dollars, according to the magazine. The St.Louis Blues limped in with a value of only $130M.
The magazine makes a few observations of note in its article:
- The league made over $200M in profits last season, but 13 teams lost money.
- Toronto made almost $82M in profit.
- The Senators made $14.5M
- The 13 teams that lost money lost a combined 130.2M
- The 2 most profitable teams (Toronto & NYR) cleared $155.9M on their own.
Over the coming days I will be expanding my analysis of the report and throwing in my two cents about it and the lockout.
