Battle of Ontario (In A Roundabout Way) Tonight In Binghamton

It’s not quite the traditional “Battle Of Ontario” that we have come to know over the past 20 years, but the Binghamton Senators and the Toronto Marlies will be carrying the colours and locking horns on Thursday night in Binghamton.

The farm teams for Ottawa and Toronto are both on a roll, with the Baby Sens on a three game winning streak and the Baby Leafs having won five of their last six.

Bingo has been doing it with defense, allowing only 6 goals in their last 4 games, with both Robin Lehner and Ben Bishop seeing action.  The Marlies have gone about things another way, filling the net with 34 goals in their last 7 games.  Nazem Madrid was the AHL player of the week last week with a goal and seven assists in his last four games.

This is the first of four meetings this season that might just be as close to the “Battle Of Ontario” as we get this season.
