Could the 67’s Win The Stanley Cup Before The Senators?

Not likely, but the mickey mouse group calling itself the CHLPA made news again yesterday, filing an application to the Trustees of the Stanley Cup on behalf of CHL players for the right to compete for the Cup should the NHL not have a season.

Isn’t it time the CHLPA went away?  They have already lost their face (Georges Laracque) as well as most of the people publicly backing the fledgling group amid accusations and suspicions that the driving force behind the “association” was alledegly a man convicted of fraud in his dealings in Toronto minor hockey a few years ago.

Besides, does the CHLPA not realize that they already have a Championship Trophy, the Memorial Cup?  That trophy is even harder to win than the Stanley Cup, with more teams and more players competing for it and a small age window in which to do it.

This group is an embarrassment to hockey and given the fact that they have such a miniscule percentage of players in the CHL on board, where they think they have the right to make such a request is beyond me.

Just Go Away CHLPA.
