Binghamton Senators Win Season Opener

The Binghamton Senators defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 to open thier AHL season on Saturday night.

The Sens used third period goals from Jakob Silfverberg and Hugh Jessiman to overcome a 1-0 first period Penguins lead for the win.  Robin Lehner turned aside 35 shots to earn the victory in the Senators net.  Jared Cowen had an assist in the win, while Mika Zibanejad was held off the scoresheet but led the club with 4 shots on goal.

The win earned new head coach Luke Richardson his first AHL win.
