Silfverberg Game Worn Jersey Sells for Almost $2K

Talk about a hyped up prospect coming off both regular season and playoff MVP awards in the 2011-2012  SEL season. His SEL team Brynäs recently posted his jersey from the first half of the season on Ebay with the following description:

"Jacob Silfverberg’s original white shirt # 33 from season 2011/2012.At the start of the Swedish Elite League season 2011/2012 Silfverberg started with sweater No. 33 and then at the inauguration of Brynas IF’s 100 year anniversary he switch to shirt with No. 100.Now you have the opportunity to get the white original sweater with number 33 here on eBay (Tradera).The jersey right shoulder is markt with C for Captain.The sweater is gameworn during autumn 2011 and has some visible marks from use.Auction’s starting price is 1500krBrynäs IF Official auctions administered by Brynäs shop +4626-182012"

Now here’s a screenshot of the completed listing:

As you can see it sold for 12100 kr which is roughly equivalent to $1800 Canadian.

That’s nearing Alfredsson jersey territory (his were being sold for $2000 by the team this past season)! Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come for Silfverberg and that he will live up to the hype.
