The National Hockey League has officially cancelled the remainder of the pre-season schedule.  The announcement came today as the two sides are scheduled to finally sit down Friday and finally resume face go face negotiations.   Previously, the preseason games to the end of September were scrubbed.

This essentially ensures that there will not be a full schedule played this year.  Even though talks are scheduled,  the core economic issues will apparently not be on the table, it will focus on other issues that still require resolving.  This lockout will drag on for weeks, and with this announcement the league would have a tough time starting a regular season before the first of November.

So get to your junior hockey rinks to get your puck fix.  The 67’s are home Friday night and Saturday afternoon at Scotiabank Place.
