Surprise, Surprise, a playoff game between Chicago and Phoenix went into overtime.  For the 5th straight game, 60 minutes wasn’t enough to settle the score, so extra time was required.  With the Hawks facing elimination, it was captain Jonathan Toews who sent a wrist shot top shelf to send the series back to Chicago with the Coyotes still leading 3-2.

After Gilbert Brule had scored to put Phoenix on the board in the second period, Chicago needed a third period marker from Nick Leddy to send the game into extra time and set up Toews’ heroics.

Mike Smith was great in the Phoenix net, making 36 saves while Corey Crawford, who did get the start after he had been rumoured to be benched in favour of Ray Emery, was less busy.  Crawford faced only 19 shots.

Game 6 goes Monday night in Chicago.
