Sergei Kostitsyn scored what proved to be the game winner with just 3 and a half minutes left to put the Nashville Predators up 2-1 in their first round series with the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.  Henrik Zetterberg closed the two goal lead to one with just a minute left, but Detroit couldn’t get closer as they lost their first home game of the series.

Shea Weber had opened the scoring on an early first period power play, and Kevin Klein‘s highlight reel goal put the Predators up 2-0 early in the second.  Pavel Datsyuk stole the puck behind the Nashville net and surprised Pekka Rinne with a back-sided stuff as Rinne seemed to lose focus for a second and it was behind him.

Nashville won despite getting only 22 shots on goal, beating Jimmy Howard three times, while Rinne was the star, making 41 saves and only allowing two goals.

Detroit will try to even up the series on Tuesday night.
