Detroit managed only 17 shots on Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne, but made the most of them as they scored 3 times in the first half of the game and held on to defeat the Nashville Predators by a 3-2 score.  The win evened the series at a game apiece heading back to Detroit for game 3.

Johan Franzen scored the winner, with Ian White and Cory Emmerton scoring earlier to pace Detroit to a 2-0 lead.  Andrei Kostitsyn narrowed the lead before Franzen’s eveneutal winner.  Shea Weber made it close late in the third, but Jimmy Howard shut the door enough to secure the win.

The series shifts back to Detroit with some more bad blood as Todd Bertuzzi fought Shea Weber early in the game, likely sending a message about Weber’s treatement of Henrik Zetterberg at the end of game 1.
