Hey Dany, A Little Help?

An open letter to Former Senators and current Minnesota Wild  forward Dany Heatley:

Dear Dany,
I know that you are at odds with the City of Ottawa, the Senators organization and whoever and whatever drove you to make the decision that has derailed your career since you left our fair city.  I also know that you are in Minnesota and couldn’t care less about the plight of the Senators as they attempt to make the playoffs in a season where many experts and so-called experts alike called them to finish dead last or close to it.

However, if you and your Wild teammates could find it in you to rattle off a couple of wins this weekend as you travel to Buffalo on Saturday and Washington on Sunday, it would be greatly appreciated. I know you are playing out the string and your playoff hopes are dashed, but think of your old buddy Jason Spezza, who has gone through a difficult time lately.  He is responsible for getting you your only 2-  50 goal seasons, and him and Alfie carried you deeper in the playoffs than you have ever been.  The least you can do is repay him by potting a couple this weekend to keep the Sabres and Capitals off the Sens’ tail.

I know you haven’t even scored 50 goals in the past 2 seasons combined, and are on pace to set career lows for a full season, but surely you remember how to score on Ryan Miller! I guess the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence, eh?
