The Ottawa Senators continue their Western Conference road trip facing the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings are coming off a 3-1 loss against the Colorado Avalanche and are trying to hold on to a playoff position in the competitive Western Conference.  The Sens on the other hand are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks and are looking to rebound tonight. This is the first meeting between these clubs this season.

Los Angeles is led in scoring by none other than Anze Kopitar with 44 points (15G, 29A). The next closest to him is Justin Williams, who is far behind with 33 (9G, 24A). However, the star of the Kings this season has to be goaltender Jonathan Quick. He’s got a stellar 1.95 GAA along with a .933 SV%. He’s also got 6 shutouts to boot. Los Angeles has yet to announce their starting goalie, but I would expect it to be Quick. Paul MacLean has already confirmed that Craig Anderson will get the start for Ottawa.

Jesse Winchester (consussion), Peter Regin (shoulder), and Brian Lee (lower body) remain out with injuries for the Sens. Ottawa is also carrying two callups, defenceman Mark Borowiecki and right wing Andre Petersson meaning there will be two healthy scratches tonight. They will most likely be Matt Carkner and Petersson. Los Angeles is pretty healthy at the moment, only missing key forward Simon Gagne to a concussion.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Craig Anderson, G (OTT) – Anderson has given Ottawa a chance to win every game. However, with every game comes the question of whether or not fatigue will finally take it’s toll on him.

Anze Kopitar, C (SJ) – Look who we could have had instead of Brian Lee!

THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR

1. Diver? – According to referee Dan O’Rourke, Erik Karlsson is a diver. Sens fans will surely be watching to see if other referees have this opinion as well, and whether or not they will swallow their whistles when Karlsson is tripped.

2. Pointless in Nine Zack Smith has now gone nine games without notching a point. After watching him score 12 goals along with 9 assists, one would have to think this streak will end sooner than later.
