Lundqvist to Assist Alfie At All Star Game

Fellow countryman Henrik Lundqvist, a leading contender for the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalie, has been named as the Assistant captain for Team Alfredsson heading into this week’s All-Star game.  Joffrey Lupul will be the assistant to Zdeno Chara, to add some SENS-LEAFS rivalry to the draft proceedings and setting up a potential rivalry filled pair of rosters.

Daniel Alfresson‘s team will most likely be very Swedish in nature, as he has already stated that teammate Erik Karlsson will be his first selection and he doesn’t think Chara (a Boston Bruin) will be very eager to pick either of the Sedin Twins (Vancouver Canucks). Alfie will likely go after his Sens teammates, and Lupul will probably urge Chara to do likewise with the Leafs All-Stars.
