October 13, 2011: 7:30 pm, SportNet East, Team 1200

3rd West (2-1-0)VS13th East (1-2-0)

Your Ottawa Senators get back on the ice tonight as they battle fellow rebuilding franchise, the Colorado Avalanche. With Ottawa picking up their first win of the season Tuesday night versus the Wild, the Sens look to remain perfect at home tonight.

Ottawa was lucky to win last game as they were playing a Wild squad that equally made many poor decisions. Ottawa was able to score three goals to push their season total to 11 goals in three games. This is pretty good as many wonder if Ottawa would be able to score one goal a game. However, the problem seems to be keeping the puck out of their net. The Sens have allowed three or more goals a game. and they cannot get into a offensive shootout with any team.

Colorado comes into down after winning last night versus Columbus. With a win against the Boston Bruins also, the Avs are proving that they should not be taken lightly.

Players To Watch

OTTAWA – Bobby Butler draws back into the line-up after spending the last two games in the press box. He needs to produce or coach MacLean won’t have much use for him. The pressure will be on tonight for The Butler.

COLORADO – Gabriel Landeskog scored his first career NHL goal last night and will be looking for more tonight. It’s early into his pro career, but I’ll be watching to see if he can live

Here is the Sens Line-up for tonight’s game:

Forwards:
Michalek – Da Costa – Alfredsson
Greening – Spezza – Zibanejad
Foligno – Regin – Neil
Butler – Smith

Defence:
Phillips – Rundblad
Gonchar – Cowen
Kuba – Karlsson
Lee

Goaltenders:
Anderson
Auld

Ottawa will go with seven defensemen tonight as they will mix and match the pairings. You might hear a lot of Swedish trashing talking tonight as both teams look to move up in their resptecive conferences.
