Less than 3 months after New York Rangers forward Derek Boogard‘s passing shocked the NHL family, the league lost another member way too soon.
Former Vancouver Canuck and current Winnipeg Jet Rick Rypien was found dead in his Alberta apartment. He was 27 years old.
The rugged tough winger played 119 games over parts of 5 seasons with the Canucks, and had just signed with the Jets in the offseason. He had a variety of personal problems and had 2 leaves of absence from the Canucks over the past 3 seasons, including a 3 month leave for personal reasons last season.
SenShot sends its condolences and best wishes to the family, friends and teammates of Rick Rypien.
