Lightning Strikes Again, Force Game 7 Showdown

The Tampa Bay Lightning held serve at home and force a 1 game showdown for the right to advance to face the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup final.  The see-saw game saw Tampa jump out to an early lead on a Ted Pucell goal 30 seconds into the game.  Boston took a lead after Milan Lucic and David Krejci scored before the first period was over.  The Tampa power play went to work as Martin St. Louis and Purcell put Tampa back in the lead before the end of the second, and Steven Stamkos gave them a 2 goal cushion in the first minute of the third.   All three goals were scored with the man advantage.   Krejci narrowed the lead to one with his second of the game, but St. Louis quickly responded to restore the two goal margin.  Krejci netted his hat trick goal with just under 7 minutes but it wasn’t to be as a last minute flurry was denied by Dwayne Roloson.  Neither goalie was particularly good, as Roloson made 16 saves on 20 shots while Tim Thomas made 21 saves on 26 shots.

Game 7 goes Friday night in Boston.
