Detroit Wins Again, Force Game 7…Tell Us Who Will Win!

The Detroit Red Wings are the latest in an increasing trend of no lead being safe, as their 3-1 victory at home in game 6 forced a game 7 showdown for the right to advance and Vanvouver Canucks in the Western Conference Final.  After a scoreless 40 minutes, the San Jose Sharks got on the board early in the third when Logan Couture whacked in a rebound that barely crossed the goal line.  Detroit woke up after that and responded just past the midway point of the period when Henrik Zetterberg tipped in a Nicklas Kronwall shot that got past Antti Niemi.  Niemi had made all the stops up to that point, but by the way he made them you knew it was only a matter of time before one or more got by him.  Less than 2 minutes later Valteri Filppula scored what would be the game winner off a nice feed from Pavel DatsyukDarren Helm added the empty netter to seal the deal.

San Jose looked like a deer in the headlights after the Filppula goal, and I am not confident that they can get the job done in game 7, even though it is at home. I think the confidence is gone, and has been replaced by panic.
