The Detroit Red Wings staged a third period comeback to take the win and avoid elimination for the second game in a row with a 4-3 win in San JoseLogan Couture put the Shark up 3-1 less than a minute into the third and it looked like San Jose would end it.  However, the Red Wings showed their experience and chipped away, with first Jonathan Ericsson,  and then Danny Cleary scoring to tie it up.  Then, with less than 7 minutes left Thomas Holmstrom tipped the winner past Antti Niemi.  The stunned Sharks couldn’t get the equalizer past Jimmy Howard, who had his best game of the series making 39 saves.  Detroit scored their 3 third period goals on only 6 shots, and had only 22 for the game.  Pavel Datsyuk added three assists for the Red Wings.  Game 6 will be back in Detroit Tuesday night.

Here are the game highlights from NHL.com:

Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks will be in Nashville in hopes of finally putting away the Predators.  The Canucks do not want another game 7 to test the fate of the hockey gods, because anything can happen in game 7.  For their psyche, they need to finish it off tonight.   Nashville will get another lift from the home crowd, and need to finally win one at home against the Canucks, who won both games played so far in the Music City.
