Game Day: PHI @ OTT

1st EAST (40-15-6)VS.15th EAST (20-32-9)

Your Ottawa Senators battle the Philadelphia Flyers tonight as the Sens take on the best team in the Eastern Conference. The last team these two teams met in January, all hell broke lose. What will come of that game is yet to be determined. With Ottawa playing out the string, Philly will try to get through the rest of the season without any major injuries. So I don’t expect anything major to happen tonight. But one can hope.

There will be no line-up changes from last night’s game, so Ottawa will ice the team of rookies and AHLer’s again. Craig Anderson will continue his audition as he gets his fourth start in a row.

Players to Watch

Ottawa – Erik Condra  has been one of Ottawa’s best players since his call-up. With two points in five games, Condra has seen his ice time and responsibility increase. He is quickly becoming my new favourite Senator.

Philadelphia – Jeff Carter has been on fire as of late. With five points in his last three games, Carter is starting to play playoff hockey.

Keys to a Ottawa Win

Goal tending – a common factor in a key to a Sens win, Anderson will have to stand on his head with all the weapons Philly has on their roster.

Physicality – Ottawa needs to show they won’t roll over and play dead these last 20 games.

Rookies galore – which one of Ottawa’s many rookies will set up and show they belong in the league.
