BREAKING NEWS: Senators re-sign Peter Regin

After days and months of waiting and waiting for Peter Regin, future top-six forward in the making to be re-signed, it has finally come to fruition. And let me say, that fruit tastes very, very good.

A great off-season for Bryan Murray just got better in a flash of a pen. He’s now been able to lock down two important figures of the future, in Nick Foligno and Regin, both for great bargains. Peter Regin’s contract comes up to 2 years, $2 million meaning he will have a cap hit of $1 million/season. Great signing, and looking forward to a break-out season for the young Dane next season.

This signing also means the last Restricted Free Agent for the Ottawa Senators left to re-sign is Chris Campoli. Campoli and the Sens will be heading to arbitration on August 4th, and from I’ve heard the two sides may be a bit far apart to come to terms before the hearing. I’ve said all along that this would be the trickiest of the three RFA’s, but I still believe some deal may be done here. Let’s hope we can keep it fair.
