A Very Happy Birthday!

Exactly 365 days ago, your favourite Ottawa Senators blog was created by the FanSided Network. It took time, tribunals, and many ideas passed forth and beyond. But finally, on July 24th, 2009, SenShot was born, and came into the world!

It’s been a whirlwind of a ride so far. I can’t thank Zach and Adam Best, the overlords of FanSided enough for giving me the opportunity to write for this great Network and on my favourite hockey team one year ago. It’s you, the readers that have made it the best and I hope we can continue that for even more birthdays to come!

When we started a year ago, the Ottawa Senators were headed into a pit of despair. The whole Dany Heatley fiasco, and whether enough Pascal Leclaire would become “the goalie” in Ottawa. But there was a glimmer of hope, and throughout the whole season, that glimmer widened, and widened, and eventually lead to the playoffs. We proved all “the experts” wrong, and gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a fight for their lives.

Here’s to more great times, and my hope of celebrating the Senators’ Stanley Cup win with all of you guys!
