BREAKING NEWS: Senators sign Sergei Gonchar

Ottawa makes the first big move in Canada by signing defenseman Sergei Gonchar to a three-year contract worth $5.5 million/year. I’m tepid on this one. Takes care of Top Four Defenseman Need hugely, but 3 years for a guy like Gonchar? Otherwise, nice splash by Murray. Now he turns his attention to his RFA’s and a Top Nine Forward.
