Clock Strikes 10: Sens @ Habs Preview

Ladies and Gentlemen, cue the drama. The drums. Any loud instrument you have in your posession, ’cause it’s going to be a big one tonight. The Battle of the Bridge, Sens vs. Habs, both enroiled in a three-way tie (along with Philadelphia) for 5th place in the Eastern Conference. If it can get bigger than this, than it’s June 1st, 2007 all over again.

All three teams buffled in the middle have 10 games left. 10, folks! After studying the teams each one has to play during the last course of the regular season, Montreal has the hardest schedule, with 6/10 teams left to play currently in the playoff picture for both conferences. Both Philly and the Sens have 5/10 teams who are in the big one. Obviously, Montreal’s destiny is in their own hands. But if the Sens win this game tonight, they will have one less “big team” left to play with a 2-point advantage on Montreal and a game against the flyers the next day. The troops have to be motivated. That’s why I’m ending this post with this statement:

IF WE WIN, WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. BOOK IT. IF WE LOSE, IT WILL BE THAT MUCH HARDER TO NOT FALL IN THE 7TH OR 8TH SPOT IN EAST. IN THAT CASE, HERE COMES THE FIRST ROUND SWEEP, IF WE CAN INITIALLY MAKE IT.
