A Very Special Birthday for a Very Special Person

Happy Birthday Daniel Alfredsson! Today you turn 37, but eveyr year it seems like you are getting yougner and younger. Of course, you will never convert back to the days of the shaggy blonde hair, but we all know you still be No.1 in our hearts. You were this close to winning the Stanley Cup for us in 2007, and you’ve doen so much for the team, fans, and game. Let’s hope we can return the favor and win you a Cup.

Tomorrow’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes should be a win, even though Carolina has beaten us a couple times by a bad score. Carolina was the team last year that officially eliminated us from playoff contention (even though we all knew by January) , so maybe some justice will be served. The Canes have been bad all year, and they can never get a streak going. Their captain, Rob Brind’amour and their goalie, Cam Ward, are out so it may be a situation for the Sens to take advantage of. I have a gut feeling Mike Brodeur will start since Elliott needs some sort of rest. Manny Legace will likely start for Carolina. Should be an interesting game, no?

Today in Cam Barker: The deal’s not going to happen in some time, maybe until the draft. Chicago lloks fine now and is destined to take that elusive Stanley Cup final run. If the NHL catches them on something though, Ottawa will likely be first in line for some sort of deal. I heard somewhere that Bryan Murray could accept a trade for Barker AND Brent Sopel is Chicago takes some useless parts to clear up the position at forward.
