Oooh, Ahhh, Ouch. That Burns!

What an exciting game for a late Thursday night! Chugging down a few beers I really thought Ottawa would steal this one away after Mike Fisher scored his second to make it a 3-3 game. But, as it has been all season, the Ottawa Senators gave the Kings an Power Play and young Drew Doughty (Pierre McGuires’ new lover) snapped it past Brian Elliott for the game-winner. What frustrated me was in the last 5 minutes where the Sens didn’t seem to care to tie the game up and gave up two very lousy goals to Justin Williams. They essentially gave up, which you can never do in the game of hockey and especially on the West Coast.

Jonthan Cheechoo scored his 3rd of the season off of a huge rebound from Jonathan Quick. Good for him getting to that puck and really striving to claw back in the game. Ryan Shannon got 2 assists, both on goals by Mike Fisher and it’s seemed like those two had fire tonight. Unfortunately, a third of that line wasn’t competent enough.Chris Phillips had a huge defensive game and played big minutes especially on the Penalty Kill.

Today in Cam Barker: Well, the Hawks announced their extensions but as I have heard Brian Burke has backed out of talks with Chicago. If that will lead to more talks with Ottawa, I don’t know. But let’s hope so, because we really need some scoring from the backend.

Next up a date with Phoenix. I think Mike Brodeur should get the start to rest up Elliott against Les Ducks.
