FanSided Enemy: Broad Street Buzz

Finally, a road game out of the Sunshine State! The Ottawa Senators head to the City of Brotherly Love to show some un-bortherly love to their former franchise goaltender, Sugar Ray Emery. The former cast-off is now the franchise goaltender for Philadelphia, and he is performing admirably. Behind the best defense in hockey and a deep offense, Emery is sticking it to those teams who dropped on him. I would like to think the real drama will be in January when the Sens host the Flyers, but I’m pretty sure Emery will be ramped up for tonight.

After a shootout win against the Oilers Tuesday, Clouston is keeping his lineup the same. Pascal Leclaire will start his 5th straight game tonight, a streak where he has gone 2-2. I think a lot of people shitted on him Tuesday night, but the Penner and Moreau goals were not his fault. The fact is he made 33 saves and some timely ones to keep the game alive. No excuses for the Brule goal, though. I personally think he’ll step up with another big game tonight.

Many are saying Flyers win. I can see where they’re coming, but the Flyers are 1 point ahead of Ottawa and their best competition so far this season have been the Rangers and Penguins, two team Ottawa lost as well. I expect a solid game from the pairing of Phillips-Kuba, and Picard-Carkner should be on it’s toes again. If we score throguh all lines, we win. The daunting task will be to stop Scott Hartneel, Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, James Van Riemsdyk, Claude Giroux, and hell even Daniel Briere tonight, and I have a feeling CC has his troops ready for this one. Therefore, Im going with…

Senators 4 (Campoli, Foligno, Kelly, Kovalev)
Flyers 3 (Carter, Pronger, Van Riemsdyk)

GO SENS GO!!!
