After a successful hosting of the Trash, the Sens get right back at it to fast the defending cup champions in Bytown. The Sens are 3-1-0 to start the season but face their first real test tonight. Ottawa will see Ryan Shannon inserted into the lineup while Kuba, Winchester, and Peter Regin are day-to-day. There are some minor changes to the lineup though.

Michalek – Spezza – Cheechoo
Alfredsson – Fisher – Kovalev
Foligno – Shannon – Neil
Ruutu – Kelly – Donovan

Phillchenkov
Camporlsson
Picarkner

Clearly Ottawa’s gonna have a hard time defending Pittsburgh’s stalwart offense. When you have the trio of Crosby-Malkin-Staal each on different lines, you better choose wisely. Pittsburghs D is also good and responsible and most players know Ottawa from head to toe. Leclaire vs. Fleury will be the most interesting sitch of the day, and if Leclaire can steal one, that would be good. However, I’m going with…

Pittsburgh 4 (Malkin, Cooke, Dupuis, Letang)
Ottawa 3 (Michalek, Picard, Alfredsson)

Regin being dropped in favour of Shannon? Isn’t that the wrong message – shouldn’t you be rewarded for playing well instead of punished?

I’m afraid the combo of Karlsson and Campoli will be exposed tonight – I don’t think they will be able to handle Pittsburgh’s speed and skill

so I agree – Pittsburgh takes it tonight
