Schubert to Atlanta, Mike gets an “A” and 5 Trade Deadline Predictions

As many of you already know, the Atlanta Thrashers have picked up Schoobie Doo off re-entry waivers. It was an eventful run for Christoph here, and even though he had his moments, he never seemed to crack a roster spot. Last year was dissapointing in terms of stats and Clouston said it best, he got caught up in the numbers game. There was no more room for him on forward after the Heatley trade and the emergence of Carkner and Karlsson just made him look like a lame duck. My best guess is that he’ll battle Nathan Oystrick for that last defenseman spot in Atlanta, and overall good luck to him in Trash Land. Even if it’s against the Sens.

Mike Fisher got his long overdue A today, and even though many expected Spezza would get it, Clouston went with the safe choice. Even though I said Spezza would (should) get it, the Sens tried last year this same method with Heatley and now how did that work out? Spezza will get his due, but now we have to compensate for that money we threw at Fisher. I don’t get why though that both of them could have gotten the letter, like other teams do. Edmonton’s got 4 Assistants, that’s a lot but 3 is enough.

Anyways…that Trade Deadline day is still far off but I’ll post who I think will be traded on that day.
